Event regulations – VEIC meets with Building Commissioner

30 /01/ 2013 Comments are Closed

The Victoria Events Industry Council (VEIC) has been working to seek clarity for event organisers and venue operators on the building regulations that apply to temporary structures at events. Some VEIC members have reported confusion around the accessibility requirements for temporary structures such as marquees and believe the regulations are onerous.

VEIC has met with the Victorian Building Commissioner, Mr Michael Kefford, and will be engaging with the events industry for further comment and case studies in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to VEIC/VTIC communications for details.

If you wish to discuss this matter in the meantime, please contact Letitia Hatton by phoning 03 8662 5414 or email lhatton@vtic.com.au.
