Part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces series, the Hollywood Costume exhibition is on track to exceed targets when its season ends on 18 August. Critics have praised the exhibit, with website ArtsHub describing it as “definitely a blockbuster, combining three elements that stakeholders know attract visitors – celebrity, glamour and artistry”.
The exhibition arrived in Melbourne straight from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum and was five years in the making. Featuring 100 costumes spanning almost as many years of film-making, Hollywood Costume showcases some of cinema’s best known outfits, including 16 Oscar-nominated costumes.
Hollywood Costume again confirms Victoria as a cultural hub and is showing at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image at Federation Square.
