July Transport Disruptions – A message from Public Transport Victoria

28 /06/ 2017 Comments are Closed

A 16 day construction blitz from 1 July will prepare Melbourne for the Metro Tunnel project. There will also be road and rail upgrades across the state.

The most significant impact is expected to be on St Kilda Road between 1 and 11 July, with buses replacing trams for 2km between Domain Road and High Street and traffic reduced to one lane in each direction.

Due to road closures, Public Transport Victoria is anticipating 30 minute delays on St Kilda Road and recommend that people avoid the area if they can. However priority will be given to buses and bus replacement services.

If you do need to travel, plan ahead or allow for extra travel time and take an alternative route.

For more information, including train, tram, bus and road disruptions, visit the PTV website.

Please note: July has been chosen to undertake these works because it is a quieter month on the roads due to school holidays.
