Policy Statements

Policy defines the course of action to be taken by an organisation to achieve its stated objectives. VTIC stands for and works to support a professional, sustainable and globally competitive tourism industry in Victoria. The policies by which it stands, and which it pursues on behalf of its members, must align with this overall objective.

VTIC develops policies that will improve the operating environment of the industry and make it easier for tourism businesses to deliver high quality experiences and products to all visitors to our state. Whilst business policy and public policy are developed differently, with different objectives, VTIC is well-positioned to bring together the two areas of policy which are vital to our industry but are not always well-aligned.

In February 2012 VTIC held its inaugural Policy Summit, bringing together over 60 members to discuss issues affecting tourism in Victoria as a whole, as well as sector-specific issues and priorities.
