If you are a retail business located in a Victorian natural disaster declared area, and are interested in retailing on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda, the City of Port Phillip invites you to please complete the below Expression of Interest (EOI).  Businesses participating in this initiative must have their own valid public liability insurance.

This EOI will close on Sunday 9 February at 5pm.

City of Port Phillip and participating landlords, are offering complimentary vacant retail space on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda on a short-term basis to retail businesses in bushfire affected regions. In addition to retail space, the following items will also be complimentary if your business retails as part of this initiative:

  • WIFI from Optus
  • Free electricity from Origin

  • Accommodation on Friday and Saturday nights from members’ of the Accommodation Association of Australia
  • Furniture on loan to use in the space from Instant Retail

At this stage, there are two possible opportunities:

107 Fitzroy Street (formerly The Block Shop)

It is proposed that this space will incorporate a collaboration of retailers (in a market, pop-up style) that stock non-perishable items including but not limited to home wares, jewellery, arts and crafts, farmgate products (non-perishable) etc and those within the space are able to trade from three to seven days a week.

City of Port Phillip will liaise with each retailer independently to discuss the options and retailers can be rotated in the space based on their availability and interest to trade.

54 Fitzroy Street (St Hotel)

This property operates as a bar, restaurant and wine store and has offered an opportunity for businesses with perishable items to trade within the existing business. This would be suitable for businesses that sell farmgate products such as cheese, wine, etc. This opportunity allows retailers to provide tastings and trade is for Friday to Sunday only.

As per above, City of Port Phillip will liaise with each retailer independently to discuss the options and retailers can be rotated in the space based on their availability and interest to trade.

Please note: as this is an EOI, the above is subject to change including inclusions and other details mentioned above. If you are interested in this opportunity, City of Port Phillip will discuss and confirm the final details directly with retailers involved.  At this stage, by indicating your interest there is no obligation to proceed and trade on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda.
