Frankston Visitor Information Services continue to innovate to entice visitors

26 /06/ 2019 Comments are Closed

Visit Frankston and the Frankston Visitor Information Centre team have been thinking outside the “VIC box” and developing new and innovative ways to deliver visitor services including new products to entice potential and existing visitors to Frankston City.

This year the team has added “Van Tourismo” to the roving event team, a new branded Volkswagen Caddy that has been a successful activation at events and locations within and outside the municipality. Most recently the van travelled to the Melbourne Dog Lovers Show at the Royal Exhibition Building, reaching over 1,300 potential visitors to Frankston City. As well as increasing awareness of what our city has to offer, attending the event significantly increased the number of sign ups to our e-news, increasing our reach and ensuring that potential visitors have a number of opportunities to see the exciting activities and events we have in Frankston City.

In March 2019 the Visitor Information Centre launched a new product during the successful Big Picture Fest street art festival in Frankston’s city centre. Street Art Walking Tours were sold out during the festival and are now a monthly feature of the roving team. The tours are a small cost of $10 per person and includes a hot drink, providing the opportunity for visitors to Frankston City to learn more about inspiring arts and culture that has transformed the city centre.
