Wow, where do we start? What a big week.

First of all a massive thank you to our friends in Geelong for helping us to deliver yet another record-breaking Conference.

With over 420 delegates over the two days we surpassed all of our hopes and expectations for the 2019 Victorian Tourism Conference.

In addition to a stellar line-up of speakers and informative workshops, VTIC was pleased that Minister Pakula and Mary-Anne Thomas MP joined us on Thursday to launch the Regional Tourism Review Discussion Paper at our Conference.

As I noted at the Conference, this is a once in a decade opportunity for the industry to inform and shape the Government’s direction in addressing the serious supply-side issues impeding our growth across the state. There is no question that this is a genuine process to understand the views and insights of the industry to inform a comprehensive response to Government. I would strongly encourage that you consider submitting a response to the five key themes of the Discussion Paper which is due by 30 August 2019.

The VTIC Board has formed a working group to help in shaping our response to the Paper. We will also be distributing a comprehensive survey to ensure we gather the broadest possible views from across our member base.

VTIC has been deeply engaged in the Review from the time it was announced and we are committed to ensuring that we strongly represent the views of our members in this critical process.
