Last night we celebrated excellence in our industry with 820 guests and colleagues at the 2019 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards Gala Ceremony at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. This is the 5th year running that VTIC has now delivered these awards and I want to thank Visit Victoria as our Principal Partner and RACV as our exclusive Naming Partner for their support and confidence in our managing of this prestigious event.

Most importantly, I want to acknowledge all of our finalists in this awards process and our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners across 31 categories. Making a submission is a real labour of love and I know our operators put their heart and soul into the preparation for these awards – and every one of the 126 organisations that have made a submission are to be congratulated. While the process may seem daunting, the awards submission is an excellent health check for your business and allows you to reflect on your operations and what you have achieved.

All the winners are profiled on the Victorian Tourism Awards website. It’s great to see that, of the Gold winners across the 28 business categories, 18 are VTIC members and 8 of the winners are Star-Rated or Accredited operators.
It’s also great to see that this year, thanks to RACV, we have been able to re-institute the People’s Choice Award, bringing an element of consumer engagement into the Awards process.

We wish all the best of luck to our Gold winners as they now go on to represent Victoria at the 2019 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Canberra on 6 March.
