Hobson’s Bay launches Discover your own backyard campaign

In partnership with Destination Melbourne, Hobson’s Bay has launched its own Discover your own backyard local tourism campaign at the Newport Substation.

“When our residents have friends and relatives visiting, we want to ensure that their spending power stays in the west, and as close to home as possible,” said Cr Altair.

Discover Your Own Backyard is about community pride, finding out where we live, using our initiative, working together and not taking where we live for granted.

“The campaign this year will focus on locations and primarily shopping areas. We start with Newport next week and rolling out through the rest of Hobsons Bay, Williamstown will be the feature in September, Altona takes the spotlight in December and a feature on specialty food precincts to run early next year.

“Plus, a first in Victoria, Metro Trains have come on board, and between August and November, you will see Hobsons Bay images featured in carriages on the metro network as a reminder to people. “
