Shrine of Remembrance
The Shrine of Remembrance is Victoria’s pre-eminent memorial to the service and sacrifice of Australian men and women in times of war and peacekeeping. It is a building with a soul, featuring the stories of extraordinary people whose efforts and experiences helped shape our nation.
The Shrine is open seven days a week and more than one-million people engage in its commemorative and public educational programs each year. Of these over 60,000 are school students participating in education programs and tours.
The Education and Volunteer Manager position sits within the Public Programs directorate and leads a team of education professionals that ensure the Shrine’s Education Program, which is delivered both at the Shrine and through outreach, continues to grow and meets education curriculum requirements.
The position manages a team of over 100 volunteers who assist in providing customer service and interpretation for students and general visitors. The Education and Volunteer Manager is responsible for further growth, development and ongoing coordination of the Volunteer Program.
The successful candidate for this position will be dynamic and innovative, have proven people management and leadership skills, high level verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to create and deliver education programs to a school age and general audience.
