As the Communications Advisor you will be responsible for delivering strong external and internal communications for fire and emergency management for Parks Victoria.  You will assist in promoting the actions, services and achievements of Parks Victoria to staff, park users and the broader community through partnerships, the media, online and other communication channels. Secondary responsibilities of the role include delivering communications for visitor safety, enforcement and issues like littering and rubbish dumping in parks and waterways.

You will ensure effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders, as well as ensuring timely and effective responses to media opportunities. You will also provide strategic advice to the Director of Fire and Emergency and the Corporate Communications Manager, as required.

The successful applicant will sometimes be required to play an important role in Fire and emergency in the State Control Centre on a rostered basis.

 

To be successful for this role you will need:

Ensure individual and divisional goals are achieved and services are provided in an effective and timely manner.
Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, particularly DELWP, CFA and other fire and emergency authorities, to deliver coordinated and consistent messages to the media and community
Ensure effective budget management and financial reporting within the business
Develop functional plans and measures, to assess and improve individual and branch performance.
