Major Party Commitments for Tourism, Events and Hospitality – 2019 Federal Election

14 /05/ 2019 Comments are Closed

This time next week the outcome of the federal election will be decided, and with it, the future of Victoria’s tourism, events and hospitality industries.

Your vote will determine whether the Australian Parliament will be in a position to deliver stable, predictable policy that can drive positive outcomes for our sector. The past decade has shown the negative impacts of minority governments and minor party influence creating compromises that have not served our industry well.

Both major parties – the Liberal National Coalition and the Australian Labor Party, have committed to grow our sector here in Victoria. This federal election has seen investment in the tourism sector with infrastructure and marketing commitments the likes of which have not been in the mix for many years.

We have assessed their commitments against our strategic priorities and provided these here for your consideration.

Use you vote to ensure that the nation’s visitor economy is well supported to grow and flourish in the coming years.
