More than meets the eye at Bendigo Visitor Information Centre
The visitor servicing team at Bendigo Visitor Information Centre is now providing its visitors a chance to see ‘more than meets the eye’ with the introduction of digital technology on their Historic Post Office Tour.
With the use of ipads, tour-guides provide their group with an enhanced experience sharing images and highlighting items of significance as they tour the historic post office building which now houses the Bendigo Visitor Information Centre.
The Visitor Information Centre supplies enough ipads to share within each group whilst the tour-guide communicates and shares wirelessly with participants via one master ipad and ipad ‘drones’.
The technology uses the ‘conference pad’ app and provides a unique behind-the-scenes peek of Bendigo’s magnificent architectural legacy.
Since introducing the new technology, feedback has been overwhelming positive, even from people that have not used an ipad before.
Tours operate for small groups every Wednesday at 11am and Saturdays at 2pm.
