Introducing VTIC’s Tourism Digital BizKeeper program

Thursday 08, Oct 2020

Today we are pleased to announce a project we’ve been working on in partnership with Tourism Tribe; the Tourism Digital BizKeeper program.

This project is part of a wider industry development program that has been funded and supported by the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions.

The Tourism Digital BizKeeper program is a practical and interactive program that will walk you through the fundamentals of a digital presence that your customers will seek and you will keep for many years to come. The program will give you the digital skills you need if you don’t have the luxury of having a digital marketer in house.

What you will learn:

  • What strategies, tools and techniques a smart tourism business needs to have in place to get more leads and convert more enquiries into bookings.
  • The fundamentals of what makes a good website to convert leads into enquiries and bookings.
  • Identify your markets and gain a competitive advantage through research, content and psychology.
  • Social media in 2020 – what works and what doesn’t.

Who should apply:
The program is best suited for small businesses who do not have a digital expert in house. This is a foundation course, so no previous training is required. Applicants must be able to participate in weekly practical activities.

What does the program include:

  • A Digital Health Tracker – performed pre and post-course. This will give you a detailed assessment of your business’ online presence.
  • Six training sessions with weekly action-focused tasks. Please see the program dates here.
  • Access to full course library.
  • Expert technical support.

The program is limited to 50 businesses. You will need to complete an expression of interest application to be assessed by VTIC and Tourism Tribe.

Important dates

  • Applications close on Sunday 18 October
  • Selection will occur by Wednesday 21 October
  • The program will run between Thursday 29 October and Thursday 3 December – with weekly online one-hour sessions and tasks.
