VTIC is again co-ordinating the 2013 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards Mentoring Program, a free support service designed to help entrants get the most out of their submission. Entrants will be partnered with a mentor who will work with them during the submission process. Some 80 per cent of entrants involved in last year’s program achieved finalist status or higher. Participants in the Mentor Program will have the opportunity to use a mock judging process prior to submission to hone their application.

VTIC’s Victorian Tourism Awards preparatory workshops have also been a great success with 150 people joining sessions in Bendigo, Chirnside Park, Melbourne, Rosebud and Waurn Ponds, with a Traralgon workshop scheduled on 22 April. Each session has featured an awards judge and a mentor, with the VTIC team walking potential applicants through the varied sections of the application process.
“The workshop was very informative – it has given me more confidence in entering my business (in the awards)” – Louis Quirin, Chez LuLu, Rosebud workshop participant
