As part of a project investigating ‘Work Readiness for Current and Future Industry Needs’, Ithaca Group is conducting focus groups with employers in particular industry areas. Operators are being sought who could give insights into the expectations of employers of the work readiness of management graduates, as well as suggest how both employers and education and training institutions could better support this.
The Management focus group will be held on Monday 4 August from 2-4pm at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development’s offices at 2 Treasury Place, Melbourne.

About the ‘Work Readiness for Current and Future Industry Needs’ project
The project has been initiated by Victoria’s Industry Skills Consultative Committee (ISCC), a forum for industry leaders to provide direct feedback to government about critical skills, training and market responses that affect the workforce and productivity. It is co-chaired by Minister Nick Wakeling and Mick McMahon, CEO of SKILLED Group. Ithaca Group has been commissioned by the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development to conduct the work on the ISCC’s behalf.
As well as investigating perspectives on work readiness among Victorian employers and across industries, the project will explore the role of employers in the development of work readiness. It will also look at current approaches to the development of work readiness by schools, vocational education and training (VET) and higher education providers. The work will culminate in a series of practical recommendations for improving the work readiness of graduates, particularly within the VET sector.
