The Victoria Tourism Industry Council applauds today’s announcement that acclaimed musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical will run in Melbourne in 2021.

The stage production, to run in the newly developed Regent Theatre will boost visitor numbers in Melbourne looking to experience some of the best theatre in Australia.

Victoria Tourism Industry Council Chief Executive Felicia Mariani today said this announcement came off the back of several major coups in Melbourne’s arts sector, including the exclusive run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Come From Away.

“Melbourne’s major events are world class and it is no surprise that Global Creatures, the production company behind this hugely popular Broadway show, has chosen our spectacular city for the Australian debut,” she said.

“Melbourne is made for visitors to build unforgettable Victorian holidays around major events like this.

“From top accommodation, restaurants, café and bars, and incredible experiences at wineries and local attractions just a few hours drive out of the city, we encourage people to plan a spectacular holiday when they book their tickets to Moulin Rouge! The Musical.”
