With the end of the Metcard ticketing system in Melbourne only three months away, the myki Visitor Pack is available for accommodation houses and tourism organisations to offer their clients. The sale of Metcards on the rail network will cease in October and the Metcard ticketing system will end on Friday 28 December.
Visitors to Victoria can now buy their ticket to travel on public transport in the myki Visitor Pack, which also includes special offers at 15 Melbourne attractions. The included myki comes pre-loaded with enough value to cover one day’s travel in Zone 1, and includes information to help visitors get around Melbourne and use the myki ticketing system.
A full fare myki Visitor Pack costs $14 and includes $8 myki money, while a concession myki Visitor Pack (general concession, child and seniors) costs $7 and includes $4 myki money.
Agents selling the myki Visitor Pack earn a five per cent commission on each pack sold and will be educated in the product’s features and benefits by the Transport Ticketing Authority’s account managers. They are provided with a myki Visitor Pack agent kit that explains in detail the product on offer, how to order and who to contact for account management services. Agents will also be provided with ‘frequently asked questions’ information to answer any questions clients might have, as well as point of sale materials to promote the myki Visitor Pack.
Tourism and accommodation providers keen to sell the pack are encouraged to contact the Transport Ticketing Authority by calling 9651 7714 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
