The Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) invite you to the 50th annual international tourism research conference, being held in Melbourne June 24 – 26. TTRA is a member-based organisation that spans the world, with chapters in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Membership is diverse, incorporating anyone engaged with tourism research (conducting, using or commissioning). This includes commercial researchers, academic researchers, destination, city and state marketing/management companies and industry operators.

Consequently, the conference is one of the most rich and diverse around, with academics presenting research papers, along with a strong program from others, including government, DMOs, research companies and others. While the networking opportunities are powerful, so is the information that is shared. Keynote speakers, Pauline Sheldon from the University of Hawaii and Tim Flannery will be giving strong and thought-provoking presentations, along with a raft of other speakers from Australia, New Zealand and the world! More details on speakers can be found on the TTRA website.

To celebrate the fact that this is the first time the conference has been held in the Asia-Pacific region, TTRA are offering VTIC members a number of very special offers:

  1. Register for the conference at US$100 off the normal rate. Simply use the code 2019Local when registering at  https://ttra.com/conference/registration/
  2. Join TTRA for a year and get an 18 month subscription, giving you more opportunities to use your member discounts and links with colleagues. You can join individually or as an organisation – the organisation category provides the best and most relevant benefits.

A good way to keep up to date with the Conference is to follow the mascots’ Facebook page: Kanga & Roo 2019
