The Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) welcomes Damien de Bohun to Visit Victoria as General Manager, Major Events, and looks forward to working with him to further cement Victoria’s reputation as a world leader in major events.

Under the direction of Visit Victoria Chief Executive Peter Bingeman, VTIC supports its new approach to continue hosting some of the world’s best major events.

Victoria Tourism Industry Council Chief Executive Dianne Smith said that VTIC looks forward to working in partnership with Mr de Bohun as he established a new and innovative approach to boost Victoria’s major events calendar using an extra $80 million allocated by the Andrews Government.

“Victoria is head and shoulders ahead of the rest of Australia when it comes to major events. Under the expert guidance of Mr de Bohun, our status as Australia’s leader in this space would appear to be in safe hands and will continue to grow,” she said.

“Mr de Bohun’s appointment is part of Visit Victoria’s strategy to refresh our state’s approach which, while incredibly successful, has been unchanged for decades.

“It is time we moved forward into a new era, diversifying and building on this strong foundation.”

Ms Smith said that VTIC will work with Visit Victoria to ensure its members are well represented and informed of its activities.
