About 400 industry participants from across Victoria are preparing to head to the Mornington Peninsula to attend the 2018 Victorian Tourism Conference – an exciting sold-out event.
The Victorian Tourism Conference is an annual event hosted by the Victorian Tourism Council (VTIC) and will bring together the brightest minds in tourism, events and beyond to transform the tourism industry on all levels.
In a national-first for the industry, participants will be asked to challenge industry issues through hands-on workshops specially crafted by C2 International – a major innovative force in the global events industry which encourage innovation and creative thinking by immersing participants in unusual situations.
C2’s interactive labs and experiences will encourage participants to reframe their thinking and draw on their inner creativity to solve the challenges facing the industry.
VTIC Chief Executive Felicia Mariani is excited to experience what she describes as a “game-changer” in tourism conferences.
“Along with the C2 sessions, we have organised a strong program of speakers and experiences drawing on some of the most creative minds from across Australia and around the world. Participants can look forward to two days of engaging activities and thought-provoking sessions”, said Ms Mariani.
With the theme of innovation underpinning an exciting program of workshops, talks and networking events, the conference will support businesses to spark new ideas and opportunities to grow the Victorian tourism economy.
The program will cover a diverse range of topics, including:
Among conference keynote speakers are Tourism Australia’s Managing Director John O’Sullivan, Federal Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment the Hon Steven Ciobo MP, Victorian Tourism and Major Events Minister the Hon John Eren MP and Visit Victoria’s Chief Executive Peter Bingeman along with a host of industry leaders.
“The 2018 Victoria Tourism Conference will be an opportunity to build relationships, consider how to actively grow business and collectively plan to revolutionise our industry,” Ms Mariani said.
The Victorian tourism industry’s premier conference begins on Monday 30 July and will be held at the recently redeveloped RACV Cape Schanck Resort.
