It is great to see visitor information centres embracing accessibility in their regions, with the Hepburn Visitor Centre recently launching a TrailRider all-terrain access wheelchair. The TrailRider will enable people with limited mobility to explore local tracks and trails in the Moorabool and Hepburn region. It is available for hire for up to seven days free of charge.
VTIC is also pleased that Tourism Victoria’s accessibility toolkit is currently being reviewed by Tourism and Events Minister Louise Asher and is set to be released very soon.
Last weekend, Bruce Towers became the world’s first paraplegic to participate in Oxfam Trailwalker, a 100km challenge across Australian bush, in a TrailRider wheelchair. To read more, click here.
