The Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) welcomes the Hon. Martin Pakula MP, newly appointed as Victoria’s Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events.

VTIC Chief Executive Felicia Mariani congratulated Minister Pakula and said VTIC looks forward to working with the experienced Minister to ensure Victoria’s tourism sector can keep growing and unlock its full potential.

Minister Pakula’s other portfolios include Jobs, Innovation & Trade and Racing.

“These portfolios all have important synergies with tourism and major events and we welcome the opportunity to demonstrate how the sector strengthens Victoria’s overall economy and the broader community.

“Victoria’s visitor economy is thriving, but national and global competition continues to impact our industry. We’re looking forward to building a strong relationship with Minister Pakula and working together to future-proof the success of our industry,” said Ms Mariani.

VTIC also acknowledges the outgoing Minister, the Hon. John Eren MP for his hard work and commitment to the tourism industry in Victoria over the last four years.

“We look forward to working with the Andrews Government and Minister Pakula to keep delivering world-class tourism products and unforgettable visitor experiences to all who visit our wonderful state,” said Ms Mariani.
