Welcome to Ian and Michael

VTIC is delighted to welcome our new Business Development Manager, Ian McDougal, and Project Officer, Michael Hamilton, to the team.

Ian McDougal

Ian joins VTIC with more than 30 years of travel industry experience, having held management, marketing and sales positions in government and private organisations from bases in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra) and overseas (New Zealand, Singapore and United Arab Emirates).

In his most recent role, Ian spent six years in Dubai, where he was responsible for commercial operations and partnerships with tour operator Emirates Holidays. Prior to his Middle Eastern contract, Ian was well known to many in the Victorian industry through his role as International Marketing Manager at Tourism Victoria, a position he held for almost 14 years.

Passionate about Victoria and all things tourism, Ian is delighted to have joined VTIC. In his role as Business Development Manager, he will be working with the team to build membership and new business opportunities, as well as managing VTIC communications and its events program.

Michael Hamilton

Originally from South Australia, Michael has more than 15 years of experience in the tourism industry. His career has been very ‘hands-on’ and has included overseeing busy visitor information centres and major attractions, as well as working as a tourism marketing professional for both local and state government. Michael has a passion for nature-based tourism and he headed up a small marketing team for South Australia’s national parks before specialising on investment attraction for the state.

More recently, Michael was responsible for the marketing of National Trust visitor attractions and their exhibitions here in Victoria.
